Official presentation of the Rali da Água rally at Nadir Afonso Arts Centre

The Nadir Afonso Arts Centre was the stage, this Monday (23rd August), of the official presentation of the Rali da Água rally – CIM Alto Tâmega, event scheduled for the 4th and 5th September.

The presentation of the fifth race of the Portuguese Rally Championship counted, among others, with the presence of the President of CAMI Motosport, Nuno Loureiro, the Mayor of Boticas, Fernando Queiroga, the Vice Mayor of Chaves, Francisco Melo, and the pilots Luís Delgado and José Pedro Fontes.

For Nuno Loureiro, “the Rali da Água is not a new project, but rather the continuation of a mythical rally competition. We have made history by reactivating this race and so we intend to preserve this legacy”.

In turn, Fernando Queiroga, highlighted the importance of the rally referring that “besides being a proof full of history is also an excellent opportunity to promote the Alto Tâmega, a territory of water and welfare, and simultaneously bring some economic return to the region”.

Francisco Melo praised “the particularities of the rally and the way it promotes the essence of Alto Tâmega”, adding that “this is a motor proof of good memories for this territory and its people”.

Besides the change of name, the race has other novelties, namely the debut of the Carvalhelhos section and a night super-special.

Note that the Rali da Água – CIM Alto Tâmega has nine classification specials, being also punctuated for the Suzuki Swift 2021 Cup, North Rally Championship, Classic Rally Championship, GT Rally Championship, Junior Rally Championship, 2 Wheels Drive Championship, Challenge R2 & You, KIA RC and Kumbo Challenge.
