Work continues at a good pace on the implementation of two new pedestrian routes in the county. The PR1 – Covas do Barroso Trail and the PR2 – Lameiros do Barroso Trail.
With 8,9 kilometers, the Covas do Barroso Trail will start and end near the Forno do Povo de Covas do Barroso and will pass some of the most emblematic points of the parish, such as the Olhar do Guerreiro viewpoint, or the Santa Maria Church. The Barroso Lameiros Trail, with 9.9 kilometers, has as its starting and finishing point the Largo da Capela, in Vilarinho Seco, one of the best preserved villages of Barroso.
The creation of the new trails, in charge of Naturthoughts – Turismo de Natureza, Lda., aims to promote the visitation of the natural, cultural and landscape heritage and, simultaneously, increase the tourist attractiveness of the municipality of Boticas and the Barroso region, classified as World Agricultural Heritage.
