The village of Sapelos is located on the foothill of the Facho Mountain western slope, on the western border of the Terva River Valley, and dominates the wide and fertile agricultural lands on the left margin of the Terva River. On site, two important and ancient transport circuits, coming from Arcos and Beça, converge. The trajectories change direction in Sapelos towards Chaves via the Tâmega valley.
With the traditional granite houses longitudinally distributed and accompanying the old road, some buildings in Sapelos exhibit a more conscious architecture and include some carefully built portals that are embellished with neoclassical details.
